Just purchased a Wilson Sleek signal booster..

I hope it works well enough to justify the price, $100. I was tired of having my signal dropped almost every time I'm in the middle of a conversation. I use an EVO 4G with Sprint. Has anyone else used one of these? If so does it make a difference?

After this next week, I'll post an update as to if it seems to have made a difference for me.

I've not used that particular Wilson device but we [part-time] storm chasers all use signal boosters (Wilson and others) to boost data signal to maintain radar access in remote and fringe areas and they help significantly with a properly situated, roof-mounted antenna. But there are still a few pockets in desolate areas where even they will not get you a signal.

Thanks for that info. If the thing helps on the highways I've had to run recently, then it will be money well spent. For some reason Hutchinson, KS is not a good spot for Sprint.

Been looking into this. I'm defiantly interested to see your results.

    Ditto

I have also been looking into signal boosters but my main question is how well do they work?

Sprint is not a good carrier for OTR truckers in rural areas. That may be more of your problem than anything and a cell signal booster can not boost a signal that isn't there.

I've got ATT and in OH it's terrible. Only issue I seen was the antenna in the kit is a magnet mount and my truck is all plastic. I did see they had a trucker style and a window style antenna.

I've always had a Verizon phone, and when I was OTR I had a complete Wilson system in the truck...

Unfortunately, I always needed to buy phones that I could plug in an external antenna...and then I had to find the proper adapter. I haven't been able to use anything like that in over 6 years, so lately this stuff has just been collecting dust out in the garage. When I had it in use, though, I almost NEVER had a problem getting a signal...even crossing the desert or running in hilly terrain in the middle of nowhere. The only problem I had was that the phones (back then, anyway) seemed to get used to the boosted signal, and they stopped receiving as well when the external stuff wasn't plugged in.

I've never used the cradle that doesn't directly plug into the phone....might be interested, though, if it works.

I checked my roof before buying this thing. It sure isn't plastic, so it should stick. If it doesn't work, it'll be an expensive lesson.

I had a setup like this as well. LOVED IT!! But finding the right adapter when getting a new phone was quite a PITA sometimes.
