You don’t have to replace to whole air dryer. Just the filter once a year. If you don’t have water in the air tanks when u drain it. You should be fine. You can test the batteries. But need to unhook all the cables except for one battery and test individually.

Keep a piece of hose in ur truck. And a hacksaw and hose that with fit over the heater hose for emergency repair. Those metal heater hoses are hard to find on the side of the road. You can cut it with the hacksaw where it’s leaking and put a rubber hose over it

I did that twice. But for the amount of work involved. $60 for a new AD-9 cartridge vs $180 for a whole reman dryer and less work.
I just change the whole dang thing.

Are you getting water in the tanks? Why do you think the air dryer is not working right

Easier and cheaper to change the dryer/cartridge every fall than it is to sit in a parking lot with a frozen air system.

I agree I have a filter that’s about 6 yrs old never used it probably no good . I put whole drier 5yrs ago. For the price think I llt put the whole drier. Memories of under Truck in sub- zero temps still vivid!

This should be a newbie requirement. They have to know what its like being on the road during the winter times especially up north. Hopefully everyone stays safe and keep er' trucking.
