Dagnabit! I was hoping I'd be sitting at home drinking cocoa for this.
All dispatch told me yesterday was to run a trailer from our yard to business near Doylestown PA. Hour each way, back roads, bobtail back. I was under the impression it was a late start and a noon drop.
Check the schedule last night and my start was bumped up to 8, figure they want me back before the weather rolls in. Traffic is light, and once the trailer is gone I can enjoy going the most direct route back without worrying about running over a 18th century farmhouse while making a corner. Weather goes south quick but I'm only 7 miles out an in a few minutes I'm ready to go home before it gets worse.
Nope! Get hauled before the Old Man. "Who told you to come in early?" (Dispatch) "why didn't you check with the office before leaving?" (I was here an hour before they came in)
Apparently I have a PM delivery up in the coal region, but it's not even loaded yet. Waiting for our warehouse to get back from lunch, finish loading another trailer then load me. I won't have the hours to get home, so I might end up spending the night in the woods, in a snow storm.Sirscrapntruckalot and tucker Thank this. -
That is pretty amazing.
We have a real time state map that monitors our roads everywhere with decent accuracy in times of flood, ice and snow etc. Real time cameras at Galloway I-40 Petro among other locations help immensely in determining traffic situation. The state underserves it's people by failing to populate the place with cameras. -
Few hours later
I’ve got to sit at Sturbridge all Thursday afternoon (weather is great right now) and overnight waiting for 10:00 appointment on Friday outside of Marlbourgh. Shipper does not allow overnight parking and can’t load any Friday trucks on Thursday. Will have to wait and see what does and does not happen overnight and Friday morning.
But don’t have to be in Minnesota until Monday morning so I can sit some Friday waiting on improvements to come about as it quickly moves northeastward.x1Heavy Thanks this. -
New York is getting dumped on. Glad I was unloaded in Linden in a timely manner.
