Winter storm from the Colorado front range through the plains

I-40 is all red across most of Arizona right now. Will it be like this most of the day or do they just have to plow it some more and put some salt down? Kind of wish I had taken I-10 now.

 

It's still windy & wet here in Alamo... dunno about I-10 in Las Cruces or El Paso.

 

I -10 is closed east of Tucson because of a chemical spill from a tanker wreck. Guess I'll just have to wait for I-40 to clear up.

 

omg it started at 0530 today in Winslow, trucks wrecking every flippin' mile, I joke not.

Hell, I was recovering a pickup & trailer on frontage road when I heard BAM, turned around to see pinball semis on 40, there went westbound! One had a cab separate, it went back to the yard on my rollback.

The young ones were winching semis and busted 53's out of the road as fast as they could, to come back after the last one is moved to start the cleanup.

The insane thing is, the sun at that time had the ice on the road at a mirror shine, but they juuuuuust kept hauling ###, I don't get it.

My rollback and I alone spent 5.5 hours getting the light class vehicles out - all in a 5 mile stretch.

 

Looks like I-40 is open again.

 

Yup, not long ago fully open.

So much traffic is coming thru now that recovery & cleanup was halted, coned, and taped off until tomorrow; it's just too dangerous at night on snow banks, especially when ya already have 13 hours at multiple wrecks.

Hell, I'm at the yard right now for one of the truckers to get his cab goods.

 

Be safe out there I know it gets pretty crazy.
