    Raton Pass I-25 at the NM and CO Line will result in at least a foot, I'll have to examine the models to fine tune that particular problem. In addition to valley rain, sleet, icing expected.

    ...WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM 6 AM SUNDAY TO NOON MDT
    MONDAY...

    * WHAT...Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 2 to 6
    inches with 6 to 14 inches above 7500 feet. Snow will mix with
    freezing drizzle or change to freezing drizzle at times across
    Union County, the Central Highlands, the Northeast Highlands and
    the Far Northeast Highlands.

    * WHERE...Sangre de Cristo Mountains, Upper Rio Grande Valley,
    Central Highlands, Raton Ridge and Johnson Mesa, Far Northeast
    Highlands and Northeast Highlands, and Union County.

    * WHEN...From 6 AM Sunday to noon MDT Monday.

    * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...Significant reductions in visibility are
    expected Sunday and Sunday night. Wet snow falling on lingering
    foliage may result in isolated power outages. A flash freeze
    will be possible during the first few hours after the onset of
    precipitation, as arctic air causes water on road surfaces to
    freeze rapidly.

    This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of north and central
    New Mexico.

    .DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

    No significant weather is expected at this time.

    .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday

    A potent upper level disturbance coupled with a strong backdoor cold
    front across the east will bring an early season winter storm event
    to New Mexico beginning late tonight through the day Monday. Bitter
    cold temperatures with wind chills in the teens and single digits
    will impact the northeast plains most of the day Sunday. Winter
    travel impacts are expected along the I-25 corridor starting at
    Raton expanding south to Glorieta by Sunday night. Significant
    snowfall totals are expected over the northern high terrain where
    several inches are forecast with up to two feet possible atop the
    peaks of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. Freezing rain and sleet is
    possible over the I-40 corridor Sunday night into Monday morning from
    the Texas border to the Estancia Valley. Freezing temperatures are
    also forecast for most of the northern and eastern halves of the
    state Monday morning.
