I need to replace the wiper motor on my fld120.

Can someone tell me how to take off the piece that is attached to the motor.

Do I pry the whole thing out or are there caps in there?

Think it just pops off. If I remember correctly, you can get just motor or the whole assembly you have pictured.

There are some brass bushings on the pivots. Be ready to catch or hunt for them.

Remove the acorn nut that holds your wiper blade on. Pry that off. There is a brass fitting under this nut that you want to save. I have broke them while removing. I buy a new one of these also.
Then just pry off the arm that fits on the wiper motor transmission. The one on the arm just below the wiper arm acorn nut. I think there is 4 little bolts or nuts that hold the assembly in place.
I always replace the entire assembly, motor and transmission.
You can buy them separately but it is easier to remove and install the whole thing.
My memory may be a little vague, it has been awhile since I had to change mine.

Or did you mean remove the transmission from the motor. IF so, Nevermind.
    Good luck.

I agree, replace the transmission also, it’s probably bad, caused the motor to jam and burn out. New short plastic arm too, they’re cheap. The rest of the assembly, check it too, for binding. It’s expensive, but will usually still work, even with slop in it. Mine jammed once, a few yrs back, on passenger side. But has worked since. That reminds me, I better check mine, Lol.

I did not realize you could or should buy the whole assembly.

As I took it apart some of the pieces literally just fell apart.

I appreciate your response because I was able to call Freightliner while they were still open and ordered the whole assembly.

    Should be here on Thursday.

When you tighten the (I think) the 4 nuts that hold the assembly in place. Don't torque to much, they will break loose from the firewall. Makes it harder for a one person fix it.
I don't remember if I put a vice grips on the bolt inside the cab or if the bolt broke and I had to replace it.

I’ve changed them at least 4 times. They can be a pita, one bolt in particular. Tight spot, on the back of mounting plate. I wouldn’t take the old one off, till I had the new one. Wish I could remember more. It’s a bit tricky, getting at the one bolt, but you’ll figure it out.

Yes it sucks!!! Lost my driver side today coming down 15/99 from NY right around Mansfield. Luckily Eck’s Garage/Freightliner in Muncy had one on the shelf. Broke one top bolt and the stupid backing plate inside wouldn’t line up. Propped the plate in place with a box and a road flare till I got everything threaded lol.

Couldn’t have happened on a nice hot day in a rain storm. Hard holding tiny freaking pieces with frozen fingers!
