My wife tried AT&T . Poor coverage around here . She returned it and got a refund . When we had the ice storms in January AT&T was the only wireless provider that lost coverage . Their customers went days without cell service . It took 2 weeks to get my AT&T land line back in service

Verizon does have month to month. It is $39.99 and the aircards cost anywhere from $220 to just under $300. Software is free, just download it from their site. You can get an aircard from craigslist for $50-$100, for instance I upgraded and have one just laying around that I'd sell for a song were someone to ask. But here's the catch. I have a 2-yr contract and 5 gig download plan. Month to month allows 50 MEGABYTES. Understand that to download one song takes 5 MB's. So, they allow you enough to download 10 songs. One month I ran over my 5 gig's by another 5 gig's. If you run over they charge $0.25 per MB. Doesn't sound like much, but in my case, figure it out: 5 gigs is 5,120 MB multiply by $0.25 = $1,280. Just from downloading songs. We cme to a one-time arrangement, but it still cost me about $300. With 50 megs that would be a little $2,500!!! You are better off getting a contract if you really need it and that runs after all the taxes and surcharges about $70 w/2 yr contract. A one year contract runs about $80-$90 a month. The other vendors run about the same.

Well, I tried to explain the difference in the cost of month-to-month vs. contract billing but apparently your are not allowed to do that so the entire post was not allowed for viewing. I have Verizon and while expensive, it's nothing compared to month-to-month.

As for the reason we are not allowed to state the cost difference---you got me! There is a way to avoid the cost of aircards by getting one from craigslist, the software is free to download.
