I've been trying to figure out the technology of wireless internet in the truck. Apparently the iPhone to Mac connection is sort of slow, and that there's a GPS connection via USB modem or other device. Anyone out there a Mac user. I want to know how to hook up my Mac laptop. Also, I understand some trucks provide this service as part of the job. Anybody have that service? Is it secure enough? I want to be able to do my finances and pay bills on the road if I can so that I don't waste time with this during time off.

I'm a MAC user but can't answer your question off the bat but know someone who can. I'll pass on the question and either get you an answer or a number you can call. My ex is a MAC tech and can walk ya threw anything.

Check out millenicom. This is a reseller for sprint and they have mac compatible internet usb cards that also have a GPS system.
The biggest plus is there is no contract and it is $10 bucks cheaper a month than sprint but it still is sprint service.
You also do not have to pay for the internet usb card. Just return it when you want to cancel the service.
I have had it for a couple of months and been very happy. I have yet to test it on the road(recent grad). But I will let you know in a couple of weeks! -
Millenium costs $50- per month according to their website, and this is $10- cheaper than Sprint? This isn't a bargain as far a broadband is concerned, but then again I suppose that broadband via the cell phone towers is in its infancy.
