wireline operator oil field: Advice

I dont know who is best but the company I am with is Reach Wireline
you get 100+ hrs a week, with all hrs after 40 are at $30/hr, first 40 is at $20/hr, and you work 2 weeks then get 1 week off... they train you in 2.5 weeks not the 4 I was first told... then you are out in the field with a team they have fields they work in PA, OK, west TX and soon CO

they pay most of the bill to lease but for your share of utilities you pay 200 a month for your apartment/trailer but it is furnished and has internet and cable along with everything else you need is included no hotel needed they own the trailers and rent the apartments for you.... if it is completely free things tend to go missing sad to say

but on your week off you move out cuz someone else is coming in the rotate you and you may not get the same place you got before but at 100k a year who cares that overtime is a great thing

 

not yet but will try to remember to do so when I have time which probably wont be for awhile from now I train for 2.5 weeks then get a few days off then go out to the feild for 2 weeks so I may not have a computer time till a month from now ish

 

yeah they have 12 hr shifts I am told and you are guaranteed 100+ hr/week and there is no leaving a site till we are done and ticket signed. plus time to travel to and from but if you smoke which I dont no smoking on site for many companies and my company will set up areas you can NOT smoke when they are there if the company has no such rule... explosives for perfs I am all for that.... but with that said DOT says no smoking in the truck when transporting explosives or 50 ft I think is the rule around the truck when stopped... so if you need nicotine switch to chew or patches I have no idea if vaping is aloud but since they are battery operated and all cells, battery operated things and Radio signal devises must be turned off when on site during the time they are dressing the guns and charged tools not sure about driving the truck though

 

you get paid for all time out there on the site and transport but you are not the one doing things when not your shift so you can rest. ... you may not get to sleep but you are not doing it all for more than 12 at a time
