The bunk heater in my truck apparently broke. The company I drive for (like most ) has trucks set to not idle. They say can't fix until I am done with the multiple stop trip in upper Michigan and NY is finished. Due to weather probably the end of the week.

    Ring Thanks this.

How you can't name the company? You posted in the "Report A Bad Trucking Company." Did you forget the name of your company? The idea is to derail prospective drivers from applying there.....just saying...anyway, I'm sorry for your misfortune man. You may want to find a company that uses APUs at the very least....are you looking for a change, or just venting? I ask because there are folks here that can point you in the direction of a good company.

Don't want to name company cause I still work here. I could answer someone in a private message although not sure how you do that.
The truck does have an apu, also apparently broke. The apu requires the bunk heater to heat. When I drove for TransAm years ago theirs didnot require bunk heater for heat.

Make them get you a hotel room or head back to the yard. Don't give them the option to let you freeze to death.....

Have just the opposite today. APU quit, driver said he will wait until he's back here wednesday.(PA-WI) Told him to get it fixed, said he had extra blankets and will see me wednesday and hung up.

2020 Freightliner Cascadia. Thermoking APU. Apu is not tied into truck radiator.

Get some wheel chocks. Chock the wheels. Release the brakes. Let the truck idle.

Tried against a curb and truck still shut off. I've had other trucks shutdown in heavy trafic.
