my favorite quote ever, a reporter was doing a human interest piece on the Texas Rangers and noticed the ranger was carrying a 1911 .45 and asked him why he ca'rried a .45 the Ranger responded "cause they dont make a .46".....

and a few more from Thomas Jefferson
"A strong body makes the mind strong. As to the species of exercises, I advise the gun. While this gives moderate exercise to the body, it gives boldness, enterprise and independence to the mind. Games played with the ball and others of that nature, are too violent for the body and stamp no character on the mind. Let your gun therefore be the constant companion of your walks."
"One loves to possess arms, though they hope never to have occasion for them."
Just so everyone knows tough, I'm no gun rights advocate, I believe there should be no need for a "gun rights advocate" read the second amendment and you can see in her beautiful singular language that there is noone that can or shall take away gun right. Concealed carry is bs, your an American and have the right weather people like it or not, use your rights to the fullest extent. Its kind of like driving isnt a privilege, I pay taxes for the roads and it shouldnt be able to be taken away. But most think I have twisted views. -
Just read today that a truck loaded with prescription pills was stolen from a rest area in northern KY while the driver was in the restroom. He said he turned the truck off and took the keys with him. Cops said the load was worth millions and was bound for Canada.
Someone was following that driver and just waiting for the right time. -
you can carry a gun or other various items / tools that would come in handy in a bad situation..... bad thing about carrying a gun is its against the law to do so in a commercial vehicle and carries a hefty lil fine plus jail time..... but the choice is yours..... So basically your on your own and prayin for the best.... Be careful and Be Safe.....
-
its not illegal in a truck, it depends on the laws where you are at, same as in a car.
-
the actual law states
Title 18 Setcion 926(a). The peacable journey law.

possess and carry such firearm to any other place where he may lawfully
possess and carry such firearm if, during such transportation the
firearm is unloaded, and neither the firearm nor any ammunition being
transported is readily accessible or is directly accessible from the
passenger compartment of such transporting vehicle: Provided, That in
the case of a vehicle without a compartment separate from the driver's
compartment the firearm or ammunition shall be contained in a locked
container other than the glove compartment or console. -
Then next time don't try and act like a badazz like you "skated" around a law or something Dick. Just tell the truth Dick.
-

If I am going to go walking in a questionable neighborhood I always carry a Bubba Stik with me, as well as wearing a "special" belt buckle. Honestly I have never actually needed to use either one.
In my experience the best defensive weapons are your eyes, ears, and brain. Being aware of your surroundings at all times, and using good judgment about where you go, are your best tools of defense.
I have nothing against firearms, and own several of them myself. I have just never felt the need to carry one while on the road.Injun and scottied67 Thank this.
