  1. I agree that I was foolish. I'm still learning. I'll never know everything. Thanks.

This is our plan, to pay off the truck and then get our own authority. :) We aren't doing a lease purchase to get rich, but to eventually own our own truck and have a legitimate business! Just have to make it through the lease first, lol.

And here come the Anti LP crusaders to tell everyone that LP is for losers.
    Begone naysayers!
Looks like you know the score and what it's going to take to win.
I'm halfway through mine and I know it's going to be worth it in the end.
    Good luck !

Thats horrible thinking, thats like giving your kid a loan with 25% interest to teach them finances.

You have the thinking that makes most in this industry fail. The start small thinking.

If you don't have in yourself to put your all into your business, to give everything you have, to be a real business owner. Then go home, we dont need you out here.

I've read through some of these L/P threads. I wish there was a way to figure this out....I have a feeling that many that fail would fail with a truck bought in the traditional way. There are people that have no idea what it costs to run a truck down the road, shoot I meet true O/O's that don't know what their costs are. There are definitely bad programs out there however if all were bad nobody would ever complete them. Even the horrible ones have success stories. Do companies take advantage of younger or inexperienced drivers? Yes they do. Is the company totally at fault if a person doesn't do all the homework they should? I don't believe so. I believe there is responsibility on each and every person that signs up to do research.

Prime Inc was one of the first all L/P companies I can think of. Many complained that they made people do leases. No, if you wanted to work there it was required.

To the OP I will say good luck. It sounds like you've done the research and know what is required of you to make it happen. I'll be following this, go prove the naysayers wrong.

Do some people pay off cars bought from buy here pay here lots? Yes? Does that mean they were smart and successful? No. It means they kept their word. Two completely different things when it comes to being a business person.
