That's great bay! I am looking forward to talking with them on the 28th. Hope it all works out.

trucking is tuff enough on its own, I don't know that having to unload your own freight all the time is such a good idea. I'm sure the Electronic Log Book doesn't help matters either. But hey if the ones who are there like it, I say more power to ya !
-
Yeah I know what you mean about it being tuff. I drove back in the mid and late 90's. I know there has been a world of change since I got out of the cab but, I have missed it every since. Just my ex-wife wanted no part of being married to a driver because her entire family were hands. She grew up with her parents being OTR and she didn't want to deal with it so I came out of the truck. I am sure I will not like the elogs for a while until I get used to them at least.

Good news the day after the orientation I get offered Witte Bros school and a job!! They asked me to start the 9th but I can't leave my current employer that quick so I am scheduled to start the 30th. Ready to begin the next chapter!!

I worked for this company many years ago. About 17 I think. They flat out lied to me as a rule. They ran JUNK for newer hires. They were without question the most underhanded low life people I have encountered in my life. If you go to work for them get your answers on a dispatch buster. Use them as a stepping stone. They MAY have changed since then as I'm sure the word would get out sooner or later.
-
Thanks for the heads up Crusty. I deal with a bunch of underhanded people everyday where I am now so if that is the case I won't any worse off than I am now and I will be doing something I enjoy instead of being in a factory. Again thanks for the heads up.

Any Witte Bros. drivers still active on here? I just want to know some current info. about them. They have been aggressively trying to recruit me but I know next to nothing about them. I do know they are only about 35 miles away from me which is nice.
-
When I looked into this company back in the day, the advertised rate was 54cpm - but with mostly multi-stop and driver unload required.
I asked the recruiter honestly about the average miles and she admitted around 1500 per week.
After a while you come to realize no matter how high the cpm - the "BS" factor will be higher - meaning; 40cpm = 60cpm worth of headaches; 50cpm = 70cpm worth of headaches ... etc ..
Don't fall for all the high-miles and high cpm advertising gimmicks ... and good luck! -
I know of the company, and they seem to be pretty upfront about what they do. I believe they are hauling both truckload and LTL. It looks like they have pretty good equipment and I know their shop is excellent on the upkeep.
