I read alot of posts on here about how guys are crapping their panties because their scaled out at 72 or 76k asking how should they slide their 5 th wheel & trailer tandems and they act like its a sucide mission.. I'd hate to see them with 88k or 90k.. they'd wet themseves on the spot .. they act like its the end of the world . .. most of em are newbies some are seasoned..
I cheerish the few times I scale out & I'am only 81 or 82k .. & theres no sliding my wagon wheels
As far as braking goes I treat every load as if I have no brakes alot of down shifting & jakes and do my best to treat every cruve or cornner as if I'am on ice even if 95° in the shade
I personal won't feel safe in a Crapcadia if I only had 10k on and was on the Bonneville salt flats running 30 mph

The weight addition they are talking about is because the EV trucks weigh 6,000 pounds more than a non-EV. THATS why they are talking about raising the limit. And Im pretty sure that added allowed weight is for EV trucks only.

Could be wrong, I read something about it a few months ago - and Im old.

brakes are for holding you in place at a light/stop sign, other then that don’t touch that pedal unless you want a hammer to the knee cap

My issue is the shippers and brokers will now expect 90k lbs and I bet my life the pay will stay the same. So why would I want to increase my maintenance with the added wear and tear from the extra weight, for no extra money? Why would truckers want this at all!? Then on top of it all it will lower the demand for trucks since more can be shipped. It’s a significant amount. Going to from 45k to 55k lbs cargo is about 20% more!!

I guess the solution would be to not haul intrastate loads in GA if 90k gross is a large concern or if the pay isn’t there to make it worth it.

Then don’t haul it, I’ve hauled plenty by the pound/ton, the more I haul the more I make, if I’m bidding a truck load, which I rarely do, I give a rate for max weight, just because I “don’t burn any fuel hauling light” doesn’t mean I’m going to sell myself short
