There is a lot of uneducated speculation in this thread. The GA bill was originally meant for log trucks only. Not sure how everyone else got lumped in. It’s currently legal for log trucks to gross 88,000 in the state. Florida and Alabama allow 92,000 I think. The loggers who are cutting timber in Georgia destined for mills in Florida or Alabama are at a disadvantage. That’s how this whole thing got started. Somehow special interest groups probably from agricultural and aggregate industries have seem to gotten all trucking included in the bill.

For everyone saying "well you can permit things for x weight." Yes thats absolutely true, but those of you that are buying your own vehicles from new spec them for what and how you haul, permitted rate be *darned* pulling at the absolute capacity of your equipments capabilities is not going to increase its longevity. Loading cycles will fatigue components way faster that way
