I have no issues with women drivers who do the same job without asking for special treatment since they're a woman. Women flatbedders are a unique breed and Ive never seen one that asked for special treatment. However I cant say that about box drivers. Ive met too many women box drivers who tried to use their gender to butt in line, get another driverto back their truck etc. Women flatbedders have more self respect than that.![]()

We have a few women drivers. I would think at least one would be willing to train although even if you get a guy, I can assure you he will be very professional.

We have two women drivers that I know of. I think you'll be fine training with a male driver they will be Professional. I know of couple trainers that have trained women drivers Here at maverick no problems.

Hey fair and square, do you have any updates? Have you started training

Did you end up going to work with Maverick? I started talking to a recruiter back in September- letting them know I'd be available the end of October. Now they say there won't be any orientation available till after Thanksgiving and they aren't sure they'll have a trainer for Reefer, much less female. Starting to get worried.

If you're going into TCD, which is the division I'm in, there aren't any female trainers, unless they got a new one since July.
There is a very limited number of TCD trainers, so the wait time can be longer than normal. Last I heard there were only 9. But if you're hired, you'll definitely get a trainer, it just may take some time. But go to orientation as scheduled, because you will be paid a weekly check as long as you're waiting on a trainer and you stay in Little Rock. I know two guys that had to wait about 5 weeks for a trainer, but they were paid $500 per week for those 5 weeks to live at the hotel. Probably the easiest job anyone has ever had lol.Sadiepete Thanks this. -
I was not with Maverick though.Last edited: Nov 13, 2012
