I was set up to haul Landstar under my own authority.Big difference between that and being a Landstar L/P.Nothing more than a glorified company driver and keep and eye on the news.These tax dodgers tax shield will soon come crumbling down.

 

Ok, let's get this straight. Landsatr and Mercer both use guys who OWN their own trucks. Not "lease/purchase" deals. You take YOUR truck and run under THEIR authority. Nothing shady or dodgy about it. ENTIRELY different than a carrier trying to pay a driver on a 1099.

I will say in kindness that in addition to being better informed you are going to have one h ell of an attitude change if you are going to succeed in this business. Attacking and disrespecting those that are doing well and have years of experience is NOT the way to do it.

Get over yourself,I haven't attacked anyone just stating problems of and industry I have seen go steadily downhill for 30 years.The stories and nightmares are contained in all 3 truck magazines I read every month.You TTR cheerleaders are doing nothing to help the plight of others as for every one of you super happy truckers there are a thousand who have seen the industry for what it has become.You may profess all you want to be and expert on the Landstar business model,but I have talked to them first hand.They buy trucks and trailers through Landstar just like all the other trucking travesties taking over this industry.
