Im not for evs being pushed on us prematurely. But to be objective, i remember ford trucks, a while back had a tendency to catch fire. Old vws too. Also by all the burn marks on the highways ive seen, alot of trucks.

I think ev’s being pushed on folks period is a joke…if someone wants an ev then they have th choice to do so….i agree it’s prematurely because the power grid needs major overhauling before that can happen anyway.

    And then there's this........
Fire Breaks Out On Ship Carrying Thousands Of Cars — Killing 1 (forbes.com)
A spokesperson for the Dutch coast guard suggested the fire began late Tuesday near one of this ship’s 25 electric vehicles and warned the blaze could last several days, according to Reuters.

It is still unknown what caused the fire, though it was speculated that electric vehicles onboard had contributed to the fire’s intensity. The Japanese shipping firm Mitsui OSK Lines announced it would no longer transport electric vehicles after the incident, over concerns their batteries pose fire risks.

Someone did a test with the new lighting f150 and with a rather light travel trailer hooked up to it its range was something like 90 miles.

Combustion engines bad. Real bad. Think of the children. :D

just watch out. There are a few on this site that know more about EV’s and the electrical grid than anyone. What we normal people see isn’t true. Just “trust” the technology. Covid should have taught you to trust the experts.

I type this while sitting in My pickup truck in the Home Depot parking lot, idling unnecessarily. It’s only 75 outside.

Gotta love the FUD here. A car carrier catches fire, and it can't be the cause of the 1,000's of gas/diesel cars on the ship, or the 1,000's of pounds of fuel to run the ship. It has to be the 25 EV vehicles....

I have read articles online that at 95 degrees Fahrenheit EV range dropped by 4% without using air conditioning and by 17% when using the air conditioner.

The heat also has a negative impact on vehicle charging times and charging should be done at cooler times.

I have watched several You Tibe videos in which owners on trips mention charging anxiety.

I do not like the fact they EV's are being pushed on us.

I googled "ev sales" and i found nothing but info on how sales are booming. Yet ford cuts prices on their lightenings because they arent moving.( no pun).kinda like reports on driver shortage.
