How about a 450 mile EV pickup truck and it can tow 10,000 lbs for 225 miles on a charge. It’s not cheap.
Wonder why folks are skeptical of ev’s??

None of Fords expensive pick ups are selling. There’s a huge inventory that’s going to be discounted.
drvrtech77 and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
Read an article written by an employee at the electric company I’m connected to. He took a Ford MachE on a family vacation just to test it out, and in 1,100 miles, they blew over 7 hours at charging stations.
Who has that kind of time on a regular basis?!?! Oh, and they left it plugged in and charging for 72 hours while at the beach, and the 110 charger had it up to 90% by then! WOW
JoeyJunk and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
If people are doing long trips they need to buy Tesla because of their charging network.
the latest news is most of the EV are switching to the Tesla standard connection and will be able to recharge at Tesla sites. All the other charging companies are so unreliable. -

Wonder how much the homeowners’ insurance will cover, not to mention Mercedes Benz may have to eat part of cost of rebuilding the home since the car was a loaner!Cattleman84, JoeyJunk and drvrtech77 Thank this. -
Everyone is going gung-ho on EVs and yet, some manufacturers still haven’t answered the question about how they’ll handle severe climate conditions-in particular extreme cold/winter weather.
I’ve yet to see one save for maybe Tesla(and that’s a pretty big maybe) handle subzero temperatures in the northeast or the Midwest (Wisconsin,Minnesota,Illinois, etc.) where temperatures can drop down to -25 degrees F (without the wind chill)without sucking the life out of the batteries, just starting up the vehicle!Cattleman84 and JoeyJunk Thank this. -
This year I replaced all of them with old fashioned plug ins and for the yard work stuck my generator in the back of the trailer and drove around the yard to the work areas. Finished in less than half the time, didn't have to have 3 batteries ready for each tool, didn't have to walk back to the garage 29 times for the next fresh battery from the charger.
As far as I'm concerned they can shove those battery powered tools!Cattleman84, JoeyJunk and Numb Thank this. -
