So it is 1am and my head is doing all kinds of things. Started thinking about running as a team with whatever company I end up running with. Thought about meeting someone also interested in this, meeting up a few times, then go on the road together. More miles, more money. Anybody have experience teaming with someone you didn't know (not talking about assigned)? Clever or stupid-after-midnight-should-be-sleeping idea? And...![]()

Hey dude I just changed my mind about working for CRST they are a Team only company not a very good reputation, I live in Peoria, Illinois and they have a dedicated Route Peoria to Denver home time every week....If interested get a hold of Josh in the Dedicated Fleet and see if you can get a Pre-Hire-they have a Training class September-17 in Peoria if there is not a local school for you. and PM me and maybe we can talk I just want to get my 8 months to Year and get away from CRST. Asssign does not mean much with Team companies. who puts
the CB in the Truck.!! Hah

If your really interested in teaming then DONT GO TO CRST!! You can thank me later for saving you from that. Try US Express as they will pay you right as in you will earn team pay for being a team instead of individual pay for being a team (crst). As far as your more miles and more pay, good luck with that!
Scotty210 Thanks this. -
I'd have to know someone really well to consider doing the team thing. After all, you are going to spend more time with them in a little space than you will ever spend with with your wife with none of the benefits of being married.
Scotty210 Thanks this. -
In many cases, a team driver does not gross anymore, typically than the solo driver at a decent carrier. Yes, there is potential for half a team to make more than a solo but the amount is usually not enough to offset the problems associated with team driving IMO. The issues with teaming are too numerous to document here. When you think about it, you're twice as likely to be involved in a serious accident running team as you are running solo. Do carriers need team fleets? Yes, but they need to pay more and provide more and better "driver matching" services. Most just throw you in the truck with whatever nasty, 2-pack-a-day (or skoal dipping), foul-mouthed driver who had his team-mate bail on him last.

NEVER EVER will again. your sleeping while someone you don't know is driving an 80K vehicle. was a trainer for about 1 month for a small company. didn't sleep for a week, lol.
yes, I'm gun shy now. I'm not a good passenger anyway.NavigatorWife, Aaron062 and Scotty210 Thank this. -
Thanks guys! Being a noob, I don't know the cost-benefit details. Not grossing much more for twice the headaches, nevermind!

Second thoughts again need a JOB but CRST or Running Teams is out of the question I hope people will just stop working for them maybe these companies will change or people get a back bone and go union again.

I'm teaming with USX right now, but I came straight in with one of my best friends so that definitely made it easier. We just finished our 9th week together and had a good paycheck (6200 miles @.48cpm split). I doubt you'll make that much as a solo especially starting out fresh.
