@Lisa9 : Men will talk smack to your face but be nice behind your back. If they bust on you and you take it with class and/or respond in kind, they'll respect you.

Women will talk nice to your face but talk smack behind your back. (You know it's true--that's why my wife has mostly had male friends all her life and can't stand most women.)

Lol oh, I agree Gearjammin' Penguin! Thanks for the advice, too.

As I've gotten older, my social circle has gotten smaller. Don't want drama and I find it's easier to be on my own.

Hey thanks, hopeful eyes!! Your kind words are much appreciated.

That is true that all jobs have their challenges. Just a matter of deciding which ones you'd rather deal with. And no coworkers and seeing our amazing country are two huge bonuses, for sure!

Good luck to you as well!

You might not have coworkers per se, unless you drive team, but some dispatchers and office personnel will make you want to yank their spines out their bungholes. DAMHIK.

The extremes are only necessary when no other option works.
Something most of our politicians don't understand very well, I think.

But look at how our society has developed over the years.
Everything is more to the extreme side of things, never a middle ground.

I'll give you one example with a show that has been made into movies and other shows.
    Sherlock Holmes.

Jeremy Brett, I think, had the first successful Sherlock Holmes series, and I consider him to be the best.
There are the movies with Robert Downey Jr. and the newer series with Benedict Cumberbatch.

They have all gotten more extreme and intense, to satisfy the growing need for sensationalism in our society.

They are all good in their own right, but the Brett series is by far the best simply because there was only the sense of truism.

That's right, thank you. I usually try to say that I'd be mostly on my own in my posts, but I neglected to do that this time.

Lol dang...that bad, huh? Greaaat. What do they do that is so maddening?

I'm with you there, Moosetek13. So many people can't even disagree anymore without resorting to name-calling and death threats. It's insane.

I didn't care for the one with RDJ, and I just can't look at BC's face. I'll have to watch Brett's version.

You have to learn good driving habits to be safe.

Don't Drive tired. Don't speed. Many accidents are due to excessive speed. Maintain a safe following distance. Learn how to look far ahead and constantly be watching your mirrors to know what's happening around you. Slow down if it's raining. Especially if you are empty.

The roads are extra dangerous when the rain first starts, even a light rain. There are oils on the road and when the rain comes it mixes and is extra slick. Watch out for leaves on the road in the fall.

Always make sure your windshields and mirrors and windows are clean.

When you are anywhere there are people like at a shipper or receiver, Drive slowly. If you have to back up back slowly. If you need to, get out and look. The best drivers have no fear to get out and look.

There is more, but it's really about paying attention to what you learn in school.

Then asking questions on this site.

But the bottom line is always move at a speed and distance that you are completely in control of the vehicle. At all times.
