Drive like your life depends on it. Or your grandkid theoretically.
    Or..

Be the change you want to see...in drivers of all types.

    Or...
    Be nice? Be considerate?

Absolutely!! The last thing I want is to cause an accident and hurt someone else.

I recently ordered the DVD set from Amazon and it is waiting for me on my next home time.
My sister started watching it and she really likes it.

I haven't watched that series in a couple decades. I'm really looking forward to seeing it again.

Forgot to add one more thing. I almost quit driving a fuel truck because I couldn't back up.

The first truck I had was a truck with a tank connected to a dolly then a trailer. This means you have two pivot points instead of one like on a semi and trailer. To park I had to back between two tightly parked trucks that were two deep (140+ ft) all while trucks were trying to get in line to load. A few times someone else parked it for me. In this kind of situation a slow driver really was a safety hazard.

My instructor was of no help although in all other regards he's a great instructor. Another driver taught be how to backup in a different yard that wasn't crazy.

I just needed it explained in a way that made sense to me. That one lesson was all I needed to get it right.

Just wanted to let you know you're not the only one who has had trouble getting it right at first.
Get to school and get out there. Good luck.

The yellow lines are truck spots. You are required to back all the way to the back if a spot is open. Red lines are where other trucks would be for the rush to get first load during shift change.
If I can do it, then that's proof anyone can.

Thank you, scott180! Means a lot to be so encouraged by you all.

Pretty sure my eyes bugged out when I read that you had to steer two separate units that were hooked together. You did the right thing by having someone help, especially when like you said, going too slowly may have caused an incident.

Have to say I'm really interested in seeing how I do at backing up a trailer.

I'm sure you're not giving yourself enough credit.
