    There’s honestly not much to know mechanically anymore. It’s all computerized. You’ll know if you swapped the brake lines right away.

    Lots of stuff to see on the YouTube, including some you can't unsee, but it shows a day in the life of women drivers

    Wise words, indeed. It is just a huge responsibility and I would never want to cause an accident and hurt someone because I wasn't good enough. I've read that it helps to know simple repairs, but that dispatch will send out assistance. Turning and backing up scare me a bit, although I have pretty good spatial skills. Would definitely practice a ton tho!

    Thank you for your comments and advice, Moosetek13!

    Thank you, againstthewind! Really appreciate your reply. I'd hate to fail, but after reading everyone's input and insight on here, it's worth a shot. At least I'd be proactive instead of waiting for a job to come to me.

    Cattleman84 Thanks this.

    That's a good way to look at it! I never thought of it that way. Thanks so much, AModelCat.

    @Jenn72

    A female trucker that works where I work.

    I think you will do just fine. There's a female driver on my fleet, I hear about her sometimes. "The only other person able to back into this dock was female."

    Females make good drivers because of patience and defensive driving.
