  4. All i was saying is that I've seen a lot of new drivers get completely HOSED, totally doing menial little jobs for nothing and NOT learning anything about becoming a driver, while the employer shrugs it off citing the "paying of dues."

    I agree that everybody has to start at the bottom and work their way up and "pay their dues" just like all that came before them. What I don't agree with is abusing people under those pretenses and not ever having any intention of helping a new driver move along in his career, but simply exploiting him.

    If you are doing things you don't like for wages you don't like, but you are getting a valuable learning experience, that's different. If you come into an outfit as a newbie and have to survive off of the scraps and leftovers of those who came in front of you, well.......who hasn't done that??

    If you are industrious enough to skip past all of that, well then, hats off to you, too.
