Worker in flip-flops caught clocking in then leaving minutes later for two years
An investigation concluded Tuesday into a 56-year-old employee in Ponta Grossa, Brazil, after security footage from March revealed he had been clocking in at the city hall wearing shorts and flip-flops, only to leave minutes later – for the past two years. He would later return to record his false exit. Authorities say the man pocketed nearly $6,000 between August 2023 and June 2025.

I know a truck driver that did something similar. He would clock in and do his regular local runs. At the end of the work day, he would go home without clocking out. He lived a couple or 3 miles from the terminal. He would go home, then 3 or 4 hours later sneak into the terminal through the refrigerated side of the building, so dispatch wouldn't see him. He was caught when he went home one time and fell asleep. 10 or so hours later he made a mad rush back to the terminal to clock out. That screwed up his run for the next day, so he was fired.
He blamed other drivers and said one of them must have reported him. Fact is, none of the other drivers knew he was doing that.

I've had a couple local jobs that I was told to not return before 8 hours. One was 10. They knew it wasn't going to take that long but said don't come back before so I would go home and/or run errands until I could take the truck back empty.
