Reminds me a YouTube channel, MrBallen; he's a guy who discusses frightening/gruesome events, like murders, accidents, etc.
There was a poor guy in Palatine, IL, Roger Mirro, older, in his 50s, who lost his cell phone in the trash of his apartment building. His apartment complex had a centralized trash system, so it went into a chute. Guy borrows a key to the trash room from a neighbor, goes in there, props up a ladder to take a look in.
He must've fell in at some point trying to search/reach, this is a big/deep chute that he can't climb out of, and after falling in he triggered the automatic compactor (which had no manual emergency shutoff accessible from the inside).
On the topic of painful/grueling deaths ... good freakin' grief, that sounds brutal. -
What a grueling way to go. Hopefully he went headfirst. I mean no way would be easy to face a giant meat grinder but at least if you went headfirst, it would be over quick.
