Anyone else experiencing a slow down in work? I'm still getting 12-14 hour days for the most part, but the last two weekends have been so slow that my pusher told me not to come in. He attributes it mostly to the end of the fiscal year as the oil companies work on their new budgets. I suspect the continuous drop in the price of crude over the past week and a half hasn't helped. Like I said, I'm still putting in long days, but missing 2 weekend days per pay check will sting a little.
What are the rest of you experiencing ? -
Ben Gunn Thanks this.

Been awhile since I last posted, Sorry for slacking, but I have been busy and my spare time has been taken up by a lady friend. That relationship recently ended, and I will do my best to update this thread again on a regular basis.
I am still working for the same rig moving company and we have been busier then ever. Averaging 80 to 100 hours a week. I was recently moved into our premiere road winch, and went from one of the biggest POS in the fleet to the best truck in the fleet. I have had a few offers to go elsewhere and make better money, but I enjoy where I work and the people I work with. When I started out here 6 months ago our company had about 15 trucks, we now have 30+ trucks and have bought two cranes, and they have 4 more trucks coming. We have out grown our yard and they are currently looking for a bigger yard to move in to.HeWhoMustNotBeNamed, Giggles the Original and gdyupgal Thank this. -
I live in TN and am really looking at coming to TX to get in on the oil fields, I have 1 yr verifiable OTR , but it is with a flatbed and was wanting to get in on the tanker. Any ideas on who would hire someone that has OTR exp, but no tanker exp. I will eventually relocate my family, but for now just need a good company to work for so that I can save some coin to move them. I am not afraid of work, or getting sweaty and dirty. As long as the pay is good I dont mind working for it. I am still over the road, so coming down to search is kinda hard. I would like to get some suggestions from ppl who are working in the area. I want to knock out the biggest part of the legwork before I get there. anything above 70 k would really be great. ... Thanx for any help.

70k is very reasonable if your willing to work. There's guys on my crew who will make 85-90 their first year. If your really serious about money try to get on a frac crew.
