Is it possible to work for a Company if they don't have a Terminal in your area, or operate in the State?

Sure, most work for a carrier with no nearby terminal. However it's nice living near a major terminal that does service, especially a terminal that is also frequented often, that way when it's time for service, you drive home, do laundry, and whatever else, then go back when truck is ready as opposed to spending 9 miserable hours in a terminal watching Judge Judy and listening to "bad dispatcher stories".

I used to live 100 miles from my company's Jacksonville terminal until they shut it down. Now, since I've moved back to New Orleans, the closest terminal is in North Little Rock. Home time can be a bit of a struggle, but the worse is having to have my truck serviced, since you can only do it when out on the road.

Was nice to drop my truck off at the terminal, have it serviced while on home time and ready to go when I was ready. Just another reason I'm looking for a carrier closer to New Orleans.

I always made it a point to drive for a company within 100 miles of the house. When I was single it didn't matter.
BUT, I will never take a bus to get to work! I will drive my P/U so that I can unload the thing if I decide to quit or they decide to fire me!

Most companies that buy a bus ticket will pay you the difference in gas if you drive yourself there. I don't care how far it is I will never rely on a company to get me home if they decide to let you go! Beside busses if not a city bus are worse than teaming with a unsanitary codriver! Not to mention the babies and then smokers that stink worse than a wet ashtray!
