If you have all the money you claim to have then why not just go to school on your own dime? The megas are going to want your first born if you sign on with them in any way. You could technically get your A through them and walk away but they will ruin your credit. That surely won't help your business endeavors afterwards.

Also, if you're leasing your truck on to your parent's authority you won't be paying for the insurance. Do they have contracted customers? If not, you're going to be living like a broke gypsy on the road. The economy is in really really bad shape right now.

There isn't anywhere to run to that's better financially frankly. Just weather the storm the best you can. Don't be making any big moves unless you know it's contracted and financially sound.

Yeah, dump the dogs and focus on you and the wife; what's best for the two of you.

It's paid for already 6500 out of pocket. I like your response. It's not a move I plan on jumping tommarow. I plan it next year or so. I have my cdl it's just collecting on hold untill I get through the next 3 breedings and all puppies sold.

I am not commenting on the price of your dogs. I made an analogy using your business. You know the price but somebody who hasn't raised 1 dog before thinks they can do what you now do & only charge a fraction of the presumed costs, in the example. You know your biz, we know our biz. Your plan doesn't seem very realistic. But I've heard worse ones. Your insurance could be $600 per week, fuel could be more, and your gross pay may not be even $600. If you work a year as company driver to learn while someone else pays all the expenses & they have steady freight you should make $1000+ per week.

So let me get this right.

You want to work for a carrier just long enough to complete training and then quit, which means that you'll probably owe them a bunch of money when you quit (most carriers will take a bunch of deductions out of your final settlement for onboarding costs if you quit within a specified time period, usually 6 months to a year).

Then, with only $30,000 in the bank and less than 90 days' driving experience, you want to buy a truck and then lease it on to your parents' box truck company hauling spot market freight.

This sounds to me like an almost guaranteed way to have a failed business and huge financial losses if not an outright bankruptcy. If I were you I would simply get a job with a carrier that will allow you to take time off when you need. Probably a carrier that has seasonal work, like ag or propane.

How will I owe them if I got my cdl already? Through an accredited school out of my own pocket. But I get what your saying. I just can't swollow the low ### pay for new graduates. I also have an automatic restriction so any local work like propane is out the window.
