Just as the title says...I'm rather curious on everyone elses opinion.
Personally, I'm not one of them people that think I should be paid to do pre trip, or put fuel in the truck....it's an implied task to the job. Can't run if you don't have fuel, right?
But I'm not fond of this stuff where I have to stop what I'm doing to call safety and be on the phone with them for a hour, or do stupid online training. I don't see how that is relevant to the truck. So where do you guys put your foot down and tell your company no, I'm not doing that with out pay?

    6wheeler Thanks this.

    On duty = Pay
That includes anything related to required company duties
    Fuel
    Pre-trip
    Post trip
    And everything in between.

all is on duty & = pay

All goes with the territory especially OTR. Might need to look into something else, just saying. Most of the company's could care less. Their motto is "you're replaceable at any time."

Lucky I finally got out of the scam of CPM and trip pay.

Now I clock in on my scheduled time, do my 12, go home. I'm paid for every minute I work, up to and including overtime pay when I was sent for a drug test. It was nice making OT sitting in a waiting room for one and a half hours doing nothing.

That's because people are sheep. I can't believe how many drivers are afraid to tell their fm no. I do it atleat l once a week.
I'm perfectly fine where I'm at. I just simply tell them no, I could care less what they think. I don't understand why so many drivers are scared of their FM.

I have to watch a 5 to 10 minute safety video every month, at my leisure... All truck related, each month is a different video. If I dont watch it my monthly bonus is docked $50... So basically I'm paid $50 for 5 to 10 mins of my time.

I'm paid a percentage of linehaul less FSC as a company driver.

I can't complain about the paychecks. I take home more than I did as a meat cutter, and about the same as I did as a bus mechanic.

At least at this job I don't have to work with a-holes.

This is how trucking is. If you're about to go drawing lines in the sand, better have a back-up plan. These days, everyone is replaceable in the eyes of management. Making demands is just gonna put a target on your back.

I make between $1,600 and $1,800 each week with weekends off. I do not really care how it breaks down. They can pay me for every little thing I do or just pay me the whole amount for one mile and then I do the rest for free.

If you are not making enough money there are lots of other trucking opportunities to go to.
