Only time it should matter is if you move from AB to BC. Otherwise it shouldn't matter.

Is your primary address in Alberta?
If not then you must change your license inside 90 days.

Either way ICBC will find a way to dick you around. I was living in BC but working shift work in AB. Lady at ICBC said they wouldn't cover my vehicle insurance regardless if I had territory Z (Alberta) on it or not because I was there more than 30 days a year. I basically told them to stuff it and I'll move to Alberta permanently if they weren't going to play ball. 10 years later still a proud Albertan!

I keep my own insurance in AB, plus address. Wondering how it would be for an employer that hires me on.

Of course, strictly speaking, that's against the rules, but I know some people who do it. It hasn't been a problem so far.
