I put in several applications online and wasnt expecting to hear anything back from anyone because i dont have the greatest driving record. Well a prime recruiter just called me and asked me about a underage consumption charge that i got that i forgot all about. Im wanting to know is this like a normal pre-hire company or is it like she said the only way you get sent home is for a failed drug test or failed physical. Does this company do all the background checks, dmv checks and such before offering you a position? ive been tentatively scheduled to start on Jan 11th. any advice would be greatly appreciated.![]()

They told you that?
Are you getting your cdl through them? -
Yes i would be. What makes me believe this though is her calling me to ask about my underage consumption. I never mentioned it and never spoke to anyone from there until then. I had actually forgot about that charge. This makes me think they do, do all this in advance but was wondering from someone who works for them or just recently went through what the experience is like yes there is a million post but some are a couple years old just wanting new updated info before making a final decision.
-
Yup, they do a very thorough background check - if it's out there, it will be found. Best advice is to be very upfront with the recruiters and very honest - quite frequently they will blow past run-ins with the law off, as long as you are completely honest about it. The first couple of days in orientation, there will be quite a few applicants sent home for trying to sneak something through.
-
so i guess the answer to my question is they do another one when you get there?
-
they will confirm what you put on your application.like IP said just be honest with them and you should be alright. if you think about it, they eventually will be trusting you with a $150,000 truck and trailer not to mention the customers freight which to the customer is priceless cargo. they have to be able to trust you.
-
Yes. You will complete the application on paper again once you get there - for comparison to your online application. A full background check will be done by professional investigators. If you left anything out during the interview with the recruiter - call him/her and let them know. Just say you forgot or something - if it was embarassing, say so. Your honesty is more important than anything else here.

the thing is that im trying to get across to you guys is that i DIDNT list this underage consumption charge. she CALLED me to ask me about it. So do i need to ask her what all she got back, like a copy and just copy that to the paper application?
-
Yeah... I'd do that. More than likely its in the full-length MVR on you.
-
thanks IP ill just ask her tommorrow when i send my dd214 to her. she had just made it very clear that i would be good to go and that all this stuff would be done, guess thats why im so confused. also how is the flatbed side thats what i wanna do?
