im thinking of going to cdl school. however before i fork up the cash, i would like to know if having a comp case in 1992 with one of my old companys would stop a trucking company from hiring me, as i see on alot of applications they ask if you ever had a workmans comp case. i have no tickets or accidents or felonies or anything else in 25 years. any help would be appreciated
workmans comp

Have you completely recovered? Do you have any lingering disability from your injury that could be aggravated by trucking? Will you have any limitations placed on you when you have your DOT physical?

no, im fine. i got my finger caught in a printing press. the company put me on work comp cause i had to be out 3 months while i healed

I really would find this hard to believe that it could be an issue. Good companies are out there hiring guys with criminal records and checkered pasts. My boyfriend didn't have a problem getting hired and he had been out of work for months prior to starting trucking school because of a torn Achilles tendon, and foot injuries are one of the major problems of truckers as they climb in and out of the cabs. I figured that his new employer would put some kind of rider or limitation on him, but nothing, no problem at all.

I doubt it would be an issue, thats a long time ago. I havent filled out alot of applications before this last March but...since then I have probably filled out at the very least 40 or so, and have not seen worker comp related question on any of them. Something might be asked when someone sends you in for your physical though but still, thats nothing so dont even lose any sleep over it
