If you're interested in YRC, recommend go to the terminal in person and apply.
YRC puts you with a trainer until you're ready to go solo.

@Kitchen Trout -- The short(er) answer to your last qtn: no, I did not have to do any "refesher" course with them--or similar.
I think Schneider took me pretty seriously coming in the door: I already had all the endorsements--tanker, hazmat, doubles/triples--plus I also came in with a TWIC card, & a new US passport.
But your last qtn brings up a pretty important point.
Based on my experiences there--your time out with a trainer--after your orientation classes--is VER-RY SHORT. TOO short for many, in my opinion.
After that--you will swim with the sharks, so to speak.
I was out with a trainer for only 4 and a half days.
Then Schneider assigned me a tractor--& I was on my own!!!
I started off pulling loads for Home Depot, in Atlanta metro traffic.
The industry norm for time with a trainer is usually AT LEAST 3 weeks--in many cases, 4 weeks, or more.
Soooooooo...if you (still) sign up with Schneider--be sure & bring your "A game" with you!
If you think you would want more time with a trainer (& really--you should)--consider driving for Swift, instead. Or--try one of Chinatown's recommendations.

CDL is gold in your pocket! I’d recommend keeping it current and updated. If nothing else it’s a fallback. I know a lot of guys who had the arses saved having a CDL. Had a temporary place to live when completely down and out (on truck) and making $1250-$1500 a week saved every penny and got back on their feet. Not many other professions can get you out of a hole as quickly as trucking.

I would not get overly concerned. If you have a good driving record and can be insured, the carriers will hire you. You might have to jump through some hoops, but in the end, you will get hired.
