You should consider fighting every ticket, but to answer your question, probably a fine. To be considered a "serious" violation you have to be at least 15 mph over. Other serious are tailgating, unsafe lane change, reckless driving and some others. Two serious violations in a 3 year period will lose your CDL for 90 days.

most companies will fire you for a 15 mph over.depending on the state where you got the ticket you can plead guilty to a less serious violation.speeding,following to closely and reckless driving are the most frowned upon violations in this industry.check with you safety department to know where you stand cause some trucking outfits have there own standards.

and if the cop asks how you plead. tell him not guilty. new Mexico does that. and they'll lie about your speed.

In some cases I've read about a driver will fight a ticket to keep the points off their records. They'll still pay the fine but no points on their MRV. -
