I80 in Iowa is my personal opinion. F Iowa and their non-plowed, 3 inches of ice rutted roads. For real fun though, I285 in Atlanta on an icy day can be way scarier than a trip down Cabbage with chains on.

I 80 Across wyoming. Wind, snow, ice, hills, and rookie drivers....

I am not a driver yet but I can't imagine anything being worse than going towards North Carolina as I had to ride my breaks while swerving left and right every 30 seconds down that mountain. The road was winding left and right like a cartoon and they had semi truck emergency stop ramps.

very simple, any road being driven by someone from a state that doesn't normally get snow/ice in the winter. Since I spend most of my life in Colorado, that would be I-70 and all those lovely skiers for the South, Southeast, and SoCal
johnday, Texas2Colorado and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -
I second the I80. I once spent 2 days at the Bosslemans in Grand Island, NE with my trainer waiting for it to reopen after a blizzard.
I40 in NM, TX and OK can be bad too. I got stuck on OKC for a day and a half on my way home for Christmas because 40 was covered in ice. NM gets bad from high winds blowing the snow over the road and icing it up.Texas2Colorado Thanks this. -
I-71 between Walton and Sparta, close second I-55 West Memphis to I-57.
Snow, ice, rain, wind..................
Part of driving. Roads that eat alignments, shocks, steers is government failure!Texas2Colorado Thanks this. -
ANY interstate sucks to drive on in ANY weather. I'll take a narrow, hilly, twisty, curvy fun little 2-lane road any day...
...even in the snow & ice.

I guess we are talking bout major highways. I would say 80 is bad. Thing about 80 in NE and Wyo is that it can blue sky not a storm in sight and you can still have a blizzard out there. Wind just picks up the snow and you would never know its not a real blizzard! 40 in Amarillo and NM can get very bad too! Amarillo is famous for ice! Like the other poster said, even though its a southern state and the weather isn't that bad, they just aren't equipped for it. I have seen the 40 in Amarillo under 3-4 inches of ice for days! Any of you experience the frozen fog usually in OR? That's pretty wild too! Not really a winter thing but bakersfield CA can get really bad with fog. Lots of multiple car pile-ups happening out there!
