Getting my cdl has been the worst mistake of my life. All of the companies are full of crap and can't trust independent drivers to work for them.now I'm stuck with a $7,000 bill on me and my cosigner credit.and I don't even want to drive anymore. This is something I wanted for 20 years and now I really wish I would have just kept wanting.I'm burnt out and barely got started.no,not from driving.but the bull crap dealing with the companies.
Worst mistake of my life....

What bull crap in particular? Is it really bull crap, or is it possible that you simply percieve it as such? Im not trying to be rude. Really I'm not. But I see it all the time. New guys get into this industry with certain expectations, and understandably get disillusioned when the reality is different. If you are seeking any kind of advice, youll have to clue us in on some of the stuff that has happened. Maybe someone can clue you in on a company you hadnt researched. Maybe someone can explain why some things are the way they are, and you wont think it such bull.

Try to become a Yard Spotter. Its what I'm doing now and you get out of the long haul driving.

Read through his previous posts. He fleeced with Transam for a couple months, then just made a post yesterday about going to a new company and having to relearn to shift.
All company's are crap? You with your massive 4 months experience know this?
Stop making bad decisions and actually do research and you'd quickly see you haven't even seen or experienced the tip of the ice berg of this career.
Schneider will take you with 4 months experience and has an Atlanta terminal for dryvan, a tanker terminal in Savannah, and I think they do intermodal out of both. Give them a call, work for a year as a company driver, learn the ropes and then reevaluate your situation.rabbiporkchop, TripleSix, Wargames and 3 others Thank this. -

Look, your first year you go be a company driver. You'll make somewhere around $40k and be gone a considerable amount. You'll gain valuable experience during this time, but you'll also make lots of mistakes. We have all been there. This is just how it goes. On a personal note, I have been doing this a little over 6 yrs now. I will NEVER lease or buy my own truck. I will stay a company driver. Way less headaches in my opinion. Oh, and one other thing I learned......when someone more experienced than you is trying to teach you or help you, shut your mouth and open your ears.rabbiporkchop, kylefitzy, Feedman and 6 others Thank this.
