I respect being honestly told what city I am really going to pick up from and deliver to. Not being told the city is really 100 miles away from where was originally stated. I respect when one agrees to pay for detention or layover pay, one doing so. I respect getting my much needed sleep uninterrupted by continuous nonsensical phone calls. I respect being paid the proper rate for our services, and not being lowballed or being told that another truck will do it cheaper can I match that price. I respect honesty, integrity, politeness, professionalism, profit not greed, my wife, God, and those that believe in freedom.
I suspect that you may be working for the very company that this thread is about. -
If you do not then I apologize in advance for stating such a thing.

Don't forget getting to the receiver to find out a delivery appointment was not made and they tell you to piss off and wait til one is, then have to fight tooth and nail to get any extra money for holding the load for longer ...
powerhousescott Thanks this. -
I wonder did you have that experience too, the guy promised to send over the revised rate sheet, still have not seen it to this day. I think that was with Amacon (LOL) was it not?
-
I don't know, things like that used to happen to me years ago when I had a dispatcher who was supposed to do all that. Hasn't happened to me yet now that I run my own show.
Actually, one time it did happen, with a dry load. Receiver says go away, no appointment was made for you to deliver. Broker says they requested appointment by email 2 days prior, and received no response. I decided to have the receiver sign it refused - no appointment and left the property, told the broker it is going into a storage facility and there will be re-delivery and storage charges. It wasn't the broker's fault really, the receiver figured by not replying to the email requesting a delivery appt. that they could just leave the load on the truck until they wanted it. Not today. After I got about 3 miles down the road they call me back saying the receiver will accept the load right now. So I go back and deliver it. I still load for this broker, but never to that receiver anymore. It was not TQL though. I would of really been in a pickle if they actually said go ahead take it to a warehouse. It was huge rolls of paper stacked on end you need a clamp truck to unload them. And I only have the one trailer ... in the end it worked out.Old Iron, double yellow and powerhousescott Thank this. -
Yep, do the same thing as you. Don't really care if they want it or not, just tell my operators to get them to sign refused, rejected, don't care as long as they sign that we were there. If they refuse to sign, our truck just sits in front of their driveway, or docks until they get pissed off enough that they sign and we leave. Works every time, then it is really time for the money to start flying. We will not go back until we have the revised rate sheet anymore. A certain company ruined that for the rest, I mentioned them earlier, and their broker was somebody that is listed in the thread.gokiddogo Thanks this.

English is not my native language. Please accept my apologize. Maybe I express my feeling in a wrong way. I mean it's important that the trucking companies should show their respect to the drivers and every people they are doing business with.
-
Please accept mine, I agree with what you are saying about the respect to the drivers.
Here's the deal to get respect you have to give respect. Would you agree with that?
Goes both ways Drivers to Companies, Companies to Drivers, Shippers to Carriers, Carriers to Shippers. -
Actually I'm a tire dealer. I join this forum to hear the sounds and understand the requirements from the drivers like you. Your opinion is very important to me. I'm trying to provide the best tire service to the drivers.DirtyDog808 Thanks this.
