I wonder if they use rates that we've pulled past tql loads for and that is why they ask for mc number before quoting a rate?
If your normal min rate with them is 3.00 and my past rates with them averaged 2.00 a mile, would they qoute me a lower rate than you figuring I'd be more likely to do it?
Yet another reason not to ever pull cheap if they do.

Possibly. They also check if your MC is active, insurance is good and the cancellation rate with them.
-
So evidently.... You as a carrier, Are Not really needed..If they have the "Luxury" in checking cancellation studies and determine whether you meet standards to use you.
What an embarrassment!!
Must be Trucks -A- Plenty callen' them.. huh? -
Yeah they know exactly what rates you have pulled for in the past. If you have done a cheap load with them they will definitely always push things cheap. But it doesn't mean they won't book you on a high rate. If they need you and can't find a truck they will pay whatever it takes regardless of past history. Otherwise everything will be cheap.
double yellow Thanks this. -
Here's one they me called today on. Full flatbed load, needs tarped, 3 stops, 520 miles paying $650. I just laughed and politely hung up.
fargonaz, fordconvert, CruisingAlong and 1 other person Thank this. -
How do you hang up politely? With cell phones there's no sound at all, your just gone. The old days were much better were you could slam that sucker down. There was no mistake. Now it's like, Oh, he must have a weak signal and we lost connection.fargonaz and fordconvert Thank this.

WOW !! I have a contract that requires a 4-wheeler cargo van that pays better than that ! My 24' 6-wheeler would be grossly offended at that ! If that is the future of public load boards, I may need to re-assess my plan of buying another 18-wheeler this fall.

I know a guy with a 10 wheeler straight truck that gets some awesome rates doing city P&D. Rates that put to shame many others with 18 wheels who get solid rates themselves. In fact if I were in his shoes I wouldn't even bother with a big truck but he does very well with that one too.
It's crazy when you think about stuff like that which you know about and then consider these jokers out here who are trying to sell $600 on a 550 mile run or they're trying to convince you how $3.50 a mile on 45 miles is so good and they act incredulous that, "you aren't interested in $3.50 a mile?" LOLCruisingAlong Thanks this.
