being sued by them right now for driver following temp on bol which said 50 degrees non-continuous. load of bananas denied by walmart cause temperature report showed for short period of time temp reached 55. tql is saying that it states on all rate confirmationts reefer must be run continuous. drivers are supposed to follow what is on the bol period is and always has been that way. bananas were fine they were sold to a wholesaler and tqul did receive payment from that company. they are alleging that they never received any payment for the load at all. In fact they are stating in the lawsuit that they not only rejected load but actually trashed it and are including fees for that too. adding insult to injury it wasnt only one truckload but two that were being done at same time.
up until that time had no problem with the 30-40 loads we had done with them before that

oh yeah if they call you milk them for all they are worth. once got $3800 for a load that they were only offering 2700 at first. On that particular load i called them but was asking for load going from kc to chicago and they said it was gone but would i like one to seattle. I said sure but i want at least $2/mile since i know thats the average. girl got rude with me and said no way. Her boss called me back 5 minutes later apologized and agreed to pay i asked for. when u call them u dont get the real broker u get an inexperienced assistant who knows next to nothing about the load really or anything about the carrier side of the transportation industry in general

Let this be a lesson to all drivers.
TQL will burn you, it's just a matter of time. Happened to me, and it will happen to you

Produce receivers are fussy, I always ran the unit on continuous.

Not defending TQL but trying to save $20 in reefer fuel by not running continuous was a really bad idea.

Bananas are not a commodity you can get away with running cycle. Must be at exactly the set temp. 50 sounds low. I always am told run them at 60 or if it's really hot out 59 or 58. They are not like something say potatoes where a few degrees will not make a difference.

Your first hint of having a problem was it was going to Walmart when I was hauling produce I hated going to Walmart I charged more just to go there if they didn't pony up no great loss didn't have to deal with Walmart dc. Pulling reefer ask what temp and if start stop or continuous from broker or who ever you are hauling load for not some dip on dock loading you and never try to save some change running on start stop they put temp recorders on darn near every load. CYA!!!

Get someone to write it on the BOL (if it isn't on there) the temp setting and continuous or start stop and have them sign off on it. What's on the BOL trumps everything.

They are a horrible, crooked and dishonest company to do business with. Here is my story: Had a driver accept a load on 3/28/16 Load #6761425 from Valdosta Ga to Southaven MS to deliver on 3/29/16. Rate conformation had nothing on it about driver load count. Driver went into count load and they told him he had to wait in the truck. Loaded the truck and the guy sealed the trailer. When the truck arrived in Southaven MS they guard even wrote "Seal Intact" on the bills. The load was short 75 pieces. The driver notified the broker. Then on 9/21/16 TQL claims coordinator sent us an email stating we would have to pay for the shortages. Contacted the Cargo Insurance and they investigated and also stated that they found no fault to carrier since driver was told to wait in the truck, so they refused the claim and said that it had to be shipper or receiver load count error. On 11/23/16 TQL pulled $2,355 from my account for the shortages on the load. That is wrong without even sending us a letter or offering to contact us to let us know. They are a bunch of crooks, and liars. I hope every trucking company reads this and realizes what they are facing when they book a load with TQL. CROOKED, LIARS, that want to force trucking companies out of business to boost their own profit margins. May have these stickers made up and maybe owner ops will put them on their trailer and TQL will get the message that truckers are sick of their B.S.
