Word on the street is that'll be a thing of the past. This whole 5g is supposed to change the game from the past. But we'll see. The carriers are bragging about having it available by end of year. In select markets.

There's also new companies in the game. Like the spaceX thing that was just launched.

We had a driver awhile back that drug around a big metal pole and a satellite dish that he would set up and watch nascar I think it was. Dedicated lol

I never had any desire to watch tv in the truck.

Back in my beginning days. We had that. A pole with a dish secured behind the sleeper. Raised the pole and angled the dish.

Enter your zipcode and spend 30 minutes with a compass trying to get a signal. Yup i remember those days.

    really OLD school way
when I had my dish on the truck 10 years ago I had a web site I would go to type in my ziipcode and it would tell me the setting for the dish, show my location on sat view and arrow to point the dish. I would go out set the dish, raise the mast point the dish and get back in the truck and it was locked on by the time I got back in the truck.

from parking to watching in under 5 min

now I have dish with sling at the house so I don't need a dish on the truck
I just log into the home system and I can watch live tv, record something for later or watch the dvr and I don't have to pay extra to do it

I actually enjoy my Reel to Reel, it has better sound than LPs and CDs.

By the way, I went for 18 months with an am radio in my truck back in the 80's, I wasn't going to spring for an AM/FM, when I didn't have to spend a dime on the one I got for the truck, and to beat all it was an old tube radio out of a 1957 ford.

Fit perfectly on the dash where it was screwed down.
