I guess it's safe to assume you show the same respect for all driving regulations, never exceed the maximum speed limit for example. Or is that different? :|

Mack, I have hired a bunch of drivers who don't seem to get the words "I will back you" when it comes to dispatch, I had to condition them to think that they can say no and I want them to say no when they are being forced to do something. Eld has helped by allowing me to keep my sanity, no more bullsh** from a 3am call from a company demanding I force a driver to fix his logs and take a run.

For me I don't see the loses in overall revenue that everyone claimed that would happen. I hate the costs involved, I am stuck paying between $20 and $50 per truck per month for to "maintain" the back office which I think is such a scam because there is no requirements to have it, but it is done to make money.

See you said "Im a company driver". Then said "I run my rig like I own it". You don't own it and no choice on elds or paper. Your statements are my arguments. I own mine why can't I run it like I own it?

I don't have a problem with HOS. Ultimately solved it by going team. Then it really didnt matter anymore.

I do have a issue with a computer telling me I cannot move. Dispatchers in my time did not take no for a answer. That would have been epic many times.

The reason they didn't take "no" for an answer is because you LET them keep pressuring you until you caved. I've worked with folks like that before...never get any time off, constantly missing doctor appointments and family functions because they allowed their dispatcher to not take "no" for an answer. I had the same dispatcher, and when I said "no", that was the end of the issue and they knew it. Any energy they would put into trying to convince me otherwise was a waste, because I'd already had the final word on the issue and it was now closed. I never missed any of my personal life appointments or functions. Again, same company, same dispatcher. The only difference is the driver, and what that driver allows dispatch and the company to get away with.

Never intentionally. Obviously i am not perfect and have missed a sign in my life. But i don't intentionally break the speed limit.

I can see some like the simplicity or even safety of the ELD. Nothing wrong with that. For some that want all paper done away with or a level playing field it boils down to some one else may have an opportunity to make more than them, or get home earlier leave later etc. Thing is its none of their concern what another guy does. They made their decision to go with the ELD company or truck whatever. Because they can't no one should, though they hide behind I'm all for legal beagle. I'm not saying all but their are some that feel that way.

Now my stance, I don't give a rats ### what the guy next to me does. He will have to answer for that. All my stuff is mechanical, was before I ever heard the term ELD. Nothing was bought to avoid squat. There is no way at this time to put an ELD that conforms to the standards in my trucks. For anyone to think I need to go buy trucks to comply is asinine. I will put any of my 3 side by side with any truck on the road bar none in a DOT inspection bay. We stay in 500 mile radius why again do I need a new truck? I will be ###### if I buy used that's some one else's headache. I know mine they are paid for so they are staying. If we all quit worrying about the other guy and concentrate on our own business we will get farther along.

How long have you been driving? I ask cause i remember the days when saying this load can't be done on time due to a shipper taking to long to load meant that broker never used me again. If it was just a handful of brokers with that attitude it would of been no big deal, but in my experience in those days it was that attitude from the vast majority of them.
