I don't like breaking the law, but I still have an obligation to put food on the table. And again, I am an adult, I have been doing this since the 1980's safely. I know my limitations and know the law. Remember, slavery was the law of the land, just because it is a law, does not make it right. Give me back my flexibility to put food on my table. The is not to much to ask.

And, I can hear it now, IT's THE LAW!

How many company drivers out there are denied wages due to the ELD/HOS regs? I do good, the ELD will sting, but it is not going to see me running to the poor house, I have no debt or even a credit card or mortgage. But, the guy out there making .39 a mile, he gets a few miles one week, and even less the next because he may not be in a certain time window. And that time window to do the work may only be two minutes, but in reality he could do the load. Multiply that by two or three loads a week... You are killing that man, and his family. And don't try to tell me it does not happen like that out here, because it does, and anyone with half a brain knows it.

I'm sure that happens. But i doubt its frequent. I think it just boils down to violating hos is so ingrained as part of the job in trucking to so many.

That guy making 39 cpm has been on elogs since he entered the industry. All the mega got on elogs long ago. Other than the mega carrier, the only other ones i know out paying that low are the 1099 outfits in Chicago land running 5k miles a week and if there was ever an arguement for forced elog compliance its those white volvos.

I never said I was the only business, there are plenty just like me.

That said it's mine to run as I see fit.

Yours is belongs to you to run as you see fit.

I am not worried about 50 or 100 years from now I will be long gone. Technology is a wonderful thing till it's not.

For your information the government gave me a God #### exemption so I don't have to adhere to the electronic regulation. To be honest I'm so tired of hearing the cheese whine I'm stirring #### most of the time . If you notice when I do i am sure to leave my pals like @Spyder 7723 out of the generalities. Them ol hoods has done made me enough candy I don't have to work like most. Thing is I'm greedy and want to see how much more they can give me

Every industry today has its renegades and its compliant workers. I find it all comical about the elds.
Sorry, i should have stated i agreed with your whole post. I was just adding my contribution.

I recorded my IFTA miles as I always do, 1,803 this last week before we shut down. The ELD was off by around fifty... So, it could be the IFTA mileage, because if I use the ELD Omnitracs numbers, I will be paying more quarterly. I'll stick to my pencil and paper. ;-)

Are you really that ignorant or is it just an act? Read the #### regs, what is considered "on duty" and what is excepted. If you're in the sleeper, you can log sleeper time. If you're fueling the truck, securing a load on the deck, standing on the dock counting pallets, or any other task the regs state you ought to be logging your time on line 4 and you're logging it on line 1 or 2, you're falsifying your log. Doesn't matter if it's on paper or electronic logs it's still falsification just the same...and the ONLY reason you're doing that is to allow you to work more than the regulatory maximum. If you weren't trying to work past the 70th hour, you wouldn't be cheating your log.

I read about more accidents and its the 4 wheelers fault but who still gets blamed the truck drivers and you never hear fmcsa or ATA say anything about that.Read today's a sedan cut a tanker off but at the end the sedan went under the tankers bumper. But who's fault is it as fmcsa will see it the tankers fault.

For every honest driver (you) how many are cheating to the fullest extent of however long their pencil is? Like spyder said, it probably happens but is so infrequent. How many drivers are out here though doing some hardcore cheating of the system prior to the 17th. No cdl, driving 3 days straight, 6 mother ####ers to a truck but only one drove 3 east west coast turns. We hear about it everyday, so its definitely happening.
