driving for 7 hours then taking a break an driving for 2 hours more I am just trying to get in all the driving I can in a day and I thought that anytime your doing something on duty like pre trip fueling etc u had to log it as on duty not driving keep in mind I'm just a student in school I still have a lot to learn which I'm sure will come when I'm actually on the road doing driving with a trainer/mentor after all there are there to help you learn and make sure you doing it right aren't they

overall think ya did fine. it'll get screwed up anyway when ya have a flat and have to sit on the side of the road for @ 4 hours waiting on road service to come out.
silverdrifter, flyingmusician, Arkansas Frost and 2 others Thank this. -
But it yeah overall it looks like he thought it throughteqntexas and Skydivedavec Thank this. -
and your def right that once out on the road your trainer should be showing ya all of this and more. like i said, on paper everything looks good. your instructor shouldn't hassle ya over any of it. -

Your pre-trips are too long (7-8 minutes)
Your post-trips are non-existent (7-8 minutes)
You should plan on being at each stop for 2 hours. It may take 30 minutes to load you, but it'll take a few minutes to back in, check in, and wait for them to get around to loading you. This is assuming you're not touching the freight.
If you need 640 gallons of fuel to go 3000 miles you won't be in a job long. Your truck will probably only hold 200-250 gallons anyway -- I wouldn't plan on adding more than 170 gallons and worst-case you're looking at 6mpg hauling dry van (less idling -- figure 1 gal/hour idling if it is extremely hot or cold)
