Come the weekend, they will try to get you home, but if you get loaded at 1800 on a Friday night, then the swaps are very limited. If you are out the weekend they will try to find you the longest run possible. If you can a shorter run, all youve got to do is ask to drop if going past a terminal or drop yard, or ask if someone else needs it go home and get a longer run. I have had good experience with that, just have to remember when time comes for someone else you cant forget that.

Not any different from any other co. You get home when they decide to let you, could be out 2 months, then 1800 miles from home on Friday they give you a load delivering Monday morning. Promise you a swap to get you home if you go get a load going the other way and once you get it your committed and no one to swap with. Forced Dispatch for a reason and if you do not get it there on time your charged with Service failure. They collect an extra $400 security deposit so they can get your last check plus or more to hold over your head to force Dispatch. Insufficient time to get or deliver legally or safely. Ice, Snow, Bad weather no excuse. You'll have to scrounge for equipment, Set and wait for permits, 24 hrs at times. Flats- drive to next truck stop. Carry extra Trailer gear, lights, straps. Some of these Super Truckers will chime in with their *hit, but you hire on and you'll find out.

Gnome, you need to chill out, man. Just take a deep breath. For the record, I'm home every weekend. Right now it's thursday night, i got my load picked up that i gotta deliver monday morning. I'm spending the night in the truck - my choice, i get better sleep here - and my wife is picking me up in the morning. Then I'll be home until sunday afternoon.

Pretty much sums up the entire reason the trucking industry has a 140% turnover rate in less than one paragraph.

Amazing, i left boyd just over a year ago with people bashin them in the ground. at that point nver had a problem with them. I go back to boyd and people still bashin them. I yet, still have no problems with them. When a man is willin to leave his family behind for a week at least, it has to b worth it. I went back to boyd because its worth it. Flatbeddin is a way of life. As is truck drivin. Not everyone is cut out for it. Yeah, boyd is strict bout a lot, but they have the right to b. Do the research. I enojoy workin for them and I love flatbed work. So, anyone with any questions bout boyd feel free to ask.

Hate u feel that way. Apparently u came in as a rookie or u just live in a bad area for Flatbed freight. I love this company n wouldn't drive otr for anyone else. I mean, name another company that has better than 140+ million mile drivers.
