If I'm doing 1000 miles in 14 hours...which...I mean, I need a partner as dumb and crazy as I used to be in my 20s, because you're talking averaging over 70 mph for the whole trip...that's going to require a big renegotiation. 50 cpm is not even the same SPORT, let alone the ballpark.

This is HIGH-risk expedited transport. If something goes wrong with the van, it goes wrong at 80 mph on the highway.

At this point in my life, I'd require a dollar per mile for that tight of a schedule. You're gonna change my life a bit if I'm risking it like that.

Don’t they always know it’s not possible?

Your friend sounds like an idiot. Falls asleep on the phone. Gonna kill you and the dogs.

I had a standard response for any dispatcher, customer or whatever who wanted me to complete a run in less time than safety allowed:

"Unless I am hauling a beating heart, and someone will die if I do not get it there in time, nothing else is worth it. "

Your response is much more complicated than mine.
“Scotty hasn’t gotten the transporter fixed yet”

    NO SIR.

He can go ahead and kill HiMSELF.

I’m not going! I’m sure he’s interviewing with her right now.

    You made the right decision.

A TRUE friend would not be pressuring you into this.

Life is too short for toxic people.

Regardless of your past history with this guy, sounds like it's time to kick him to the curb.

    You'll be alright.

Both are so good, can’t decide which I like better!

It will be funny if he ends up having to team up with a stranger to complete this “mission”.

He will get a taste of what truckers have to do before they can take off on their own.

Apparently Dad wanted to pull the man he was initially paired with out of that front seat, take him out behind the trailer and beat his umm…behind?

Those two hated and wanted to kill each other!

My friend *did not* want to enlist some stranger, he wanted me. So, it will be funny to find out how this goes!

Am really sick, but must do some rat killing’ today, so I will be on and off.

Have to sit here and wait for the ole stomach to settle down, so I might just be reading before I have to get off and get going.

    Thank you kindly, sir.

If it hadn’t been for all the amazing advice on here, I would have gone on and done it.

This site feels kinda like a big trucker family and I suspect I’ll be on here quite a bit.

Have a job idea percolating, that this very place to helped to generate.

I will definitely start asking a lot of questions when I’m ready to reveal *just* what that is.

Time to shove down this rest of this food and start running again…
