So you don’t give a crap about the animals?

seriously you should be talking to the shelter to tell them what he is really like and what he planned.

You can’t hold yourself responsible for the stupid things stupid people do. You made a valiant attempt to get this trip on track. It’s now on him and whoever this woman is. I’m glad you have stepped away from this potential disaster.
It looks like you have been a part of a one sided “friendship” for too long. Pick yourself, dust yourself off and move forward with head held high. Good luck

Where is this accusation that I don’t care animals coming from?

Why would I contact the shelter when they are the ones who have him fooled into thinking that this is a noble and worthy cause?

read your very first post very carefully about the guy, you are very clear he is reckless and stupid ... someone who puts all of us in danger with this attitude that he can make a trip PROFESSIONAL DRIVERS say is impossible and/or very dangerous to do with the expected drive time.

The shelter may be at fault for this idea, it seems they are to a point but there is no time limit to transporting animals, as I said in my first post my sister-in-law did this for years and she was never in a rush - the treatment of the animals were her number one concern as it should be.

the post I quoted told me you are washing your hands of everything seems to point to that you are just going to move on and not doing a thing about it, so I made my comments that the shelter should know about it and if they don't care, then the state should be notified unless you want to do this yourself and do it right.

Ever heard a story called The Rime of the Ancient Mariner?
Iron Maiden made a song about it.

My mistake. I’ve been incredibly ill and it’s difficult to keep up with every post and name on here. I do in fact remember your post and what you had to say. You were one of the members (what with your sister’s personal involvement) that I used as a example when I was screaming my head off at him.

My friend and I just had a very long discussion about this organization and as I’ve pointed out before, he has a extensive resume of working with animals, law enforcement, etc. Animal welfare is not a joke to him.

Without going into exhaustive detail, he has reviewed the financials of the org, the issues with the city’s failure to follow through on promised obligations, and did in fact bring up the safety issues involved with animal transport.

So, some of what I was trying to convey from the advice given here was in fact taken into consideration and communicated.

Apparently this women is not only working for free, but at her own great expense.

He explained that in order to in enact real and positive change, you cannot just go screaming bloody murder (as I was prepared to do) and try to figuratively burn an organization to the ground because you only see the negatives from the outside and none of what is happening internally.

I don’t know how much detail to go into, but he does understand that these drivers need to drive as safely as possible and the animals transported as safely as possible.

So I did get through to him, to my shock and amazement.

While I was rabidly interjecting earlier that it would not help the organization in the meantime to have one of these teams currently making these mission impossible runs to cause a brutal accident, he said that in order to change the current way of operation, he would need to make the trip himself to determine the unsafe nature of it, and then take action from there.

He’s still not sure if he wants the position and commitment of the much higher role the organization wants him for, as it will take a great deal of time and effort to make sure everything is up to snuff.

I was so blinded by fury, I was fact ready to wash my hands of all of it, including him.

I’m just some random dead trucker’s daughter who, if I went to media or the state, would look like a lunatic and sabotage what seems to be a group of people trying their very best to do with the means they have, currently.

Maybe it was a big mistake to start popping off on here, when he and I were not seeing eye-to-eye.

I felt my concerns were not being heard, when he in fact did hear them, and did communicate them.

In any case, he and I have cleared up our misunderstandings and communication issues, and once again, he’s not sure he’s ready for kind of intense involvement would this will require.

Life has been beating me into the ground, and I’m just fighting to survive at the moment while my health is suffering.

    @MACK E-6, maybe I’ll have a listen.

Right now, I just want to be at peace and not constantly being embroiled in conflict.

I feel like Don Quixote fighting at windmills, both real and imagined, and sad that I am unable to do anything substantial about all that is happening on the world.

To quote Ten Year’s After: “I'd love to change the world-but I don't know what to do.”

    Gentleman (and any ladies aboard):

I’m back to very unhappily report that this man was indeed NO FRIEND.

I do not wish to post the gory details of what he has done publicly, but will if necessary.

I cut contact nearly two years ago and he is still terrorizing me via the Internet.

You all were right about him.

If someone could direct me to a staff member?

I have already privately messaged a kindly trucker whom I talked with before…

    Sadly?

    Bumping.

    If something happens to me?

I want it to be known that law enforcement was informed and did nothing to stop him.

14 hours is unrealistic. 1000 miles is approximately 18 hours in a big truck, we we don't have to stop for fuel. Your are going to make frequent stops to fuel
