I'm 22 and I got a ticket 4 years ago and an accident with only a warning 2 years ago, and I'm paying about $3500 for school, the school is PTDI certified and takes 5 weeks to graduate, 44 hours behind the wheel training, the school says it helps me to seek employment and the school says 90% of its graduates got an entry level truck job that pays at least $34,000 a year.
So what's the likelihood that I will get hired?

The accident will hurt a bit ...but it is not a complete deal breaker......the one thing that will hurt is your age for OTR...alot of companies want drivers 23 or older. I know you found out about that on another thread. But the school may be able to help you get something Intrastate for a while.

They will get you hired alright! With a mega-carrier! You will probably get at least 3-5 prehires from the mega-carriers before your first week of school is over. They actually pay the schools to send you to them. Personally I recommend the smaller carriers. You have a much better chance of success. Plus you will be treated like a human being instead of a number. Don't know where you live but you should still have plenty of options.

Cool! So can you give examples of smaller carriers? I know it's definitely not Swift, CR England, Werner, Schneider and the like.
And you know that I have a ticket 4 years ago and an accident 2 years ago with a warning right? And I will still get a job right after school as OTR? Demand for truckers is high these days?

I don't think you will have trouble getting a job. Aim for the companies doing the least amount of advertising. This means their turnover rate is lower. Try checking out this site. Just type in where you live and it will give a list of carriers hiring in your area.

Companies like Watkins shepard are smaller companies that don't advertise as much and their drivers are really happier working there. Plus they treat you like a human being instead of a number. Just an example.
