Hi Drivers & Owners
I'm working on an app that lets callers know where you are when can't take their call. Good for distracted driving and letting whoevers calling know you're on the way.
Is this something that you feel would be useful as a driver?

So your trying to make what the government wants to know? This is what most ELD's do. they will track you. If they wanna know they can call and u can call back when you get the time.
-
How would it work?
I know iphones have a option to send a pretyped messge, you can select from when you cant answer a call. -
It's essentially a voicemail app with a location sharing feature.
Whenever you miss a call, the caller is presented with the choice to leave you a message or get your location. If they choose your location, it gets the GPS location from the device and sends it the caller via SMS. For landline callers it gets read back in the phone conversation.
It does not continually track you and therefore has no impact on battery life. Only when someone calls, you don't answer and they request your location is the whole process kicked off.

Yes - you would be able to select contacts from your address book who automatically get your location.
Anyone else can request your location during the phone cal, but you have to confirm before they get it.
