There is such a thing as over-thinking a problem.
If you want to be a trucker, you do what you need to get your CDL and get a job.
That will be with a mill company, OTR, for at least a year.
That means either going to a school that the mills hire from, or going to the mill school.
That's really the only way.
Now...
Are you grown up enough for -
Granny Goose?
Would Trucking be a good option for me?

thanks moose, so looks like it's time to grin and bear it. and suck up the abuse like we all do starting off in a new feild. i think the recruiter is going to have a feild day when i talk to her tomorrow.

I'm a Swifty.
Sure, I'm abused in some respects. But who isn't?
Still, I'm not thinking about leaving.
And the guy that trained me has been with Swift for more than 6 years. -
oh and it looks like i can earn my cdl permit and then apply to swift so that's deffinitly an option tomorrow before i head into my current job i'm going to be calling swift, stephens transport, MCT, CMT (clinch mountain transport), a local guy who contacted me else where, and the dreaded driver solution recruiter, as well as some schools in the area to see if I can get a student loan to cover tuition for the few weeks of training till i start earning a pay check. then after that i should have no problems paying off any debts i've incured through college, and my small $105 worth of bills since I live with my mother getting going isnt going to be the worst financialy. just 5k is a bit steap to pull up on a 7.25 pay rate burning my own gas for 1.25 a delivery. but i'll figure out a way to do this if it's what i want to follow through with once all the research is said and done.
